Second plane carrying 306 Ukrainian refugees arrives in Montreal

 Canada’s Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has announced that the second plane under the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel, carrying 306 Ukrainian refugees has arrived at Quebec’s Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.

The Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel program started accepting applications back in March and enables Canadian employers to include jobs for Ukrainians in the country’s online job bank.

 

Under this program, the refugees can stay in Canada for up to 36 months and will be

eligible for free open work/study permits. Any Ukrainian student, worker, or visitor who

is already in Canada on a temporary basis can also apply to extend their stay.

 

If any of these displaced refugees do not have a place to stay, the IRCC is also providing up to 14 nights of accommodation for them.

 

Canadians can contribute to the relief measures by donating their flight points to help cover the cost of flights for Ukrainian refugees.

A TRP (Temporary Resident Permit) is a document that authorizes a person who is inadmissible for a work or student visa to enter or stay in Canada.
